Mileseey takes pride in supporting golfers across the world with highly accurate rangefinders, giving the best distance measuring support for maximum performance when it matters the most. Our ambassadors program builds on this ethos and supports golfers with the same passion. Logan Scherpe (age 13), a junior golfer based in Wales is such an example! His current handicap of 0.5 is a testament to his dedication to the sport and ongoing hard work.
In an eventful season Logan secured a number of impressive results including a high placing at the prestigious Reid Trophy and 2nd place finishes in the Welsh U14 & North Wales U15 competitions. His success has seen him soaring up the U14 European Rankings, (making him the highest-ranked U14 player in Wales) and has also earned himself a call up to the National Wales Golf U15/U16 squad and regional U18 county squads.
He also became the youngest men’s club champion in 110 years over 36 holes at his home club (winning by two strokes with a total score of 76/73 = 149 gross). After winning, Logan admitted that he was not all plain sailing: “I made some mistakes in round one and then lost a ball on the 2nd in round two, but then dug in to play the remaining holes even par. I am really happy with the win and honored to be youngest golf club champion ever!”
Logan’s passion for golf started when he was 7. He achieved his first CONGU handicap of 19 at the age of nine which encouraged him to participate in national junior golfing events (such as the Ping Welsh Junior Golf Tour) and club-level youth events. He quickly became a member of the Dyfed Under-14 team achieving success at U14 events at the age of just 12 and winning a talented sports award from the Ceredigion sports council. Being ambitious Logan decided to test his abilities further afield in the European Junior Golf Tour in Northern Ireland. His qualifying round win there earned him the entry to the season finals in Spain where he not only won his U12 age group, but also scored the second-best net score in all age groups. The win also earned him a place at the worldwide invitational-only Champions of Champions Tournament where the world’s best junior players compete to become World Champion.
Logan hopes that he will have the opportunity to play university golf in the US to help him achieve his ultimate goal of becoming a tour player.
Mileseey is proud to have an excellent young golfer like Logan as their ambassador and we are sure that he will achieve even bigger recognition as he gets older. The foundations are there to allow him to compete at the highest level in the UK and further afield and we are watching his progression with interest.
