First, the use of hand-held laser rangefinder skills
1. Set benchmarks and self-calibrate
The laser rangefinder can be independently set whether the front end of the instrument or the back end is the benchmark. Set the reference position before use, and use the self-calibration function to calibrate.
2. Pythagorean measurement method
For some situations that cannot be measured directly, indirect measurement can be performed using the built-in Pythagorean theorem of the handheld laser rangefinder. Observe the target to construct a right triangle, and then measure the hypotenuse and right-angled sides according to the instructions on the instrument, and then the instrument automatically calculates the length or distance of the measured object.
3. Use the maximum/minimum measurement skillfully
When measuring the distance between two walls, many people use the leveling bubble to adjust the level of the rangefinder and then measure it directly. In fact, in order to get more accurate data, the minimum value measurement function can be used. When the minimum value measurement function is turned on, the instrument will perform continuous measurement. At this time, you only need to move the laser point up, down, left and right gently and slowly, and the instrument will automatically record the minimum value during the measurement process. The value is displayed as the final measurement so that the true distance between the two walls can be easily measured. The maximum value is used similarly to the minimum value, but the maximum value measurement is mainly used to measure the distance of the hypotenuse.
4. Stick white paper to measure highly reflective or highly penetrating target surfaces
The ideal measurement reflection surface of the laser rangefinder is a white, hard, flat diffuse reflection surface. If the measurement surface is too smooth, such as a mirror surface or a smooth metal surface, the laser line will reflect, so the actual measurement result will be larger; if the measurement surface is penetrating, if it is a transparent glass or liquid surface, the laser line will occur Penetration and refraction, so the actual measurement result will be small, in both cases, paste a piece of white paper on the target surface and then measure it.
2. What are the precautions for the use of laser rangefinders?
1. Pay attention to the positive and negative poles when installing batteries, and only use alkaline batteries.
2. Do not point the laser of the laser rangefinder directly at the sun, eyes or irradiate the eyes through reflective surfaces (such as mirror reflection) during measurement.
3. It must be handled with care during use, and it should be avoided in places with excessive humidity, high temperature or direct sunlight.
4. The sun is too strong, the ambient temperature fluctuates too much, the reflection effect of the reflective surface is weak, and the measurement result will have a large error in the case of insufficient battery power. In this case, it is better to use the target reflector.
